FHSAA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Fenton High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund is in fact two endowed funds: The FHSAA Scholarship Fund and the Horace W. Hitchcock Memorial Fund. Both funds are endowed funds of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. The Scholarship Fund was established in 1994 and since that time has provided 43 scholarship awards totaling $50,160. The current endowment balance is approximately $278,500. Since 1994, 357 gifts totaling $253,679 have been made to the Fund.
The Horace W. Hitchcock Memorial fund was established in 1992 and incorporated into the Associations Scholarship program. This fund has allowed our Association to provide 30 scholarship awards totaling $29,110. The current endowment balance is approximately $56,310. Since 1992, 76 gifts totaling $43,775 have been made to the Fund. Consequently, to date, our Association has awarded $79,270 to 73 graduates of Fenton High School. There have been 433 gifts to the Funds totaling $297,454 The Associations endowment funds balance is currently $334,810.
The Association has designated several scholarship awards to be given in the name of individuals who have made significant contributions to the Association and the Scholarship program The following individuals have been so honored.: Horace H. Hitchcock, Class of 1917; James T. Botticelli, MD, Class of 1948; and Robert J. Dery and Joan (Hitchcock) Dery, Classes of 1943 and 1944, respectively.
The Alumni Association is very pleased and grateful for the support given to these two scholarship funds over the years.
